Cutting Tool – Blade
Working with the Cutting Tool
– Brush Cutter Blade
While working with a crush cutter blade, there is generally a risk of
kickback, when the cutting tool hits a solid obstacle, such as
stones, trees, branches, etc. and when the cutting tool becomes
jammed in the obstacle. Thereby the machine is hurled sideward or
in direction to the operator and this will lead to serious injuries.
Kickback
occurs
parti-
cularly when applying the
blade segment between 12
and 2 o’clock to solids,
bushes and trees with 2 cm
or larger diameter.
Avoid kickback by cutting
only in the area of between
8 and 11 o’clock. Never cut
in the area between 12 and
2 o’clock.
Avoid using the brush
cutter
blade
for
comb
through brushwood, rank
growth, young tree popula-
tions (trunk diameter of
max. 2 cm) and high grass.
To cut rank growth and brushwood, you have to immerse the brush
cuter blade from the top. This way, the objects to be cut will be
shredded. ATTENTION: Always be careful, when using this working
technique, because the further away the cutting tool is from the
ground, the higher is the risk that objects to be cut and particles will
be hurled sideways.
To comb through young tree populations and to cut grass, move the
machine like a scythe closely above the ground.
ATTENTION: Wrong operation and misuse can damage the brush
cutter blade and lead to serious injuries due to thrown objects.
To avoid risk of injury when working with the brush cutter blade
- never cut bushes and trees with 2 cm or larger diameter.
