8. Before adjusting the angle of inclination, disconnect from power mains.
Before cutting bushes, scrubs or hedges, remove thick branches or
similar material. Make sure that there are no small animals hidden in the
bushes or hedges.
There are different cutting techniques and certain seasons to be observed
when trimming hedges or bushes. For detailed information see appropri-
ate technical literature.
Please note the local rest periods when working with the hedge trimmer in
order to avoid disturbances.
Below you will find some hints on trimming hedges:
If a hedge has to be cut back very substantially, trim the hedge in two
passes.
First cut the hedge to the desired height and stretch a
string along the hedge at the desired height. Guide the
blades of the hedge trimmer at an angle of 10 – 15° to
the hedge in order to get a straight cut.
Trim the hedge to a trapezoidal shape cutting from the
bottom to the top.
Round the top edges of the hedge.
Finally trim the bottom edges back.
Appropriately dispose of cut materials.
Using the Extension Pole
With the extension pole you can also trim in difficult to reach areas.
1. Remove the protection cap from the extension pole connection. Store the
protection cap in a safe place.
2. Insert the extension pole as far as it will go into the pole connection (6). The
extension pole fits only in one position into the connection.
3. Tighten the hedge trimmer and the extension pole together. Turn the seal
only hand tight. When inserting the extension pole into the pole connection,
the switch of the hedge trimmer will be out of order.
