Mounting Instructions:

Note:

In the area of the contact surface of the trailer equipment to the vehicle, underseal rust protection, cavity preservation (wax) and damping
material must be removed. Remove any drill shavings and treat bare body parts (e.g. drill holes) with anti-rust paint.

1. Remove the rear bumper. To do so,

remove the mud flaps left and right of
the bumper or the wheel house and
remove the paneling from the
luggage compartment. Remove the
bumper fixings in the luggage
compartment on the left and right and
pull the bumper back and out.
Unscrew the bumper brackets (not
required) on the left and right.

2.1 For Audi 100, cut out the bumper in

the lower middle area along the “1D1”
mark. Cut off the three attachment
brackets “A“ in the bumper cover.
Place CBB main component into
the bumper, covering drill holes “a”.
Draw or punch the drill holes “c“  on
the bumper. Remove the CBB main
component 1 and drill the drawn bore
holes “c“ Ø 10 mm and deburr.
Place washers in the left and right-
hand slots of the bumper at “a”; place
in the CBB main component and
screw in place using washers 21  and
screws  20.

Tightening Torque: “a”

  20 Nm +5%

2.2 For Audi A6 cut out the bumper in the

lower middle area along the “1D1”
mark. Cut off the two brackets “A“ in
the bumper cover.
Place CBB main component into
the bumper, and screw in place using
washers  21  and screws 20.
Washers  9  are not installed in this
case.

Tightening Torque: “a”

 20 Nm +5%

3. Additionally for Audi 100 and Audi A6,

attach the bumper at “c“ on the CBB
main component 1  by means of clips
4 and screws 5. Stick seals onto
adjustment screws 2  and manually
tighten the adjustment screws at “b”
until they stop.

4. Cut out template 17. Cover drill holes

“X” with the existing drill holes in the
tail panel next to the left frame rail cut-
out “D” (see Sketch II).
Then punch the bodywork at “b”.
Repeat this procedure in mirror-
image fashion on the right side, then
drill Ø 16 mm and deburr the
bodywork on the left and right at “b”. If
there are plugs at “b”, only remove the
plugs.
Remove the rubber plugs (2 plugs)
from the vehicle frame rails.
Attach lugs to the vehicle frame rails
at the left and right using clips 4 and
screws at “d” (drill holes already
present) from below.
Push support plates from the rear
left and right into the vehicle frame
rails.
Lay the socket connector cable of the
E-kit.

5. Install the CBB main component 1

with the pre-assembled bumper onto
the vehicle. Here, push the U profile of
the CBB main component into the
frame rail of the vehicle. In doing so,
pay attention to the socket connector
cable.
Align the bumper with the profile of
the wheel arch.
Insert and tighten screws 10 with
washers 13 at “e” on the left and right.
Using an A/F 12 Allen wrench (from
the luggage compartment) screw the
adjustment screws to the contact
surface at “b” on the body by screwing
them counter-clockwise.

(Sketch III, excerpt of the mounted
CBB in the area of attachment point
“b”.)

Place the left and right-hand end
brackets in the luggage
compartment and screw in place: for
“b” use screws 11  and washers 13,
for “f” use screws 10 and for “g” use
screws  12  and screws 13.

Tightening Torque: “b”, “e”, “f” and
“g”

 55 Nm +5%

Check the tightening torque for “b”,
“e”, “f” and “g” again after at least 15
minutes and adjust if necessary.

6. To readjust the bumper to the

bodywork, loosen screws at “a”; to do
so, first remove the stoppers from the
bodywork. Re-tighten the screws after
making adjustments.

Tightening Torque: “a”

 20 Nm +5%

Re-insert the stoppers. Fasten the
bumper and attach the mud flaps to
the vehicle.
Place and fasten the paneling in the
luggage compartment.

7. Completely install the E kit.

Screw the socket onto the socket
bracket 16 and screw the socket
bracket  at “p” onto the CBB main
component 1 using screw 18.

Tightening Torque: “p”

 8 Nm + 5 %

Note:

If an Orismat is to be attached to the
CBB, the socket must be installed
turned 120° (see Sketch IV).

Change-over of the Wrench Sizes of Hexagon Head Screws and Nuts according to ISO 272 as of 1990.
Please check the individual wrench sizes and only use matching tools.

The attachment points of the vehicle which are specified by the manufacturer and approved as standard in the ABE (General Vehicle
Certification) are to be observed.

Note: Re-tighten all fastening screws of the CBB after approx. 1000 trailer km.

The ball and coupling should be kept clean and greased. In connection with the Westfalia – SSK, etc., greasing is not permitted.

Check the diameter of the ball from time to time.
As soon as the diameter of any given position has reached 49 mm, the CBB may no longer be used due to safety reasons.

The installation and clearance dimensions are guaranteed in accordance with DIN (German Industrial Standard) 74 058.

This CBB, including all assembly parts, weighs 21 kg. Please take into account that the empty weight of your vehicle increases by this
amount after the CBB has been installed.

Subject to alteration.
