Taking Measurements
Measuring DC Voltage
Voltage on the measuring probes is displayed within the imprinted ranges.
Example: If the voltage is between 6 and 12 Volt DC, the Indicator light “6”
will light up in any case. The indicator light “12” will light up as well when
the voltage has risen to a value between 75 - 100 % of 12 Volt. If the
voltage is e.G. 8 Volt, only the indicator light “6” lights up.
The
polarity of the voltage on the red measuring probe (1) is indicated by
the indicator light (3) “+VDC” respectively “-VDC”.
Measuring AC Voltage
When measuring the correct connection of unit to the object is indicated by
the indicator lights 6 lighting up.
The indicator light 7 will light up if dangerously high voltage is present.
Finding the Life Wire in AC Power Mains
To use the unit as a mains tester (one pole test); hold it as shown in the
picture. That way, you touch the black wire while holding the unit. The unit
is provided with an earth potential for phase detection; your body acts as
such.
For use as a mains
tester, you do not
require the black probe.
Insert the red probe (1)
on the unit e.G. into a
wall socket. If the phase
indicator light (6) comes
on, the phase is on the
terminal you are
checking. If the
indicator light does not
come on, insert the red
Phase Indicator
