Using the Backup Software
The following are instructions for both Windows and Macintosh to set up your
WD Dual-option Backup USB hard drive with Dantz Retrospect Express backup software.
Note:
Retrospect Express is designed to duplicate your selected files for easy and convenient
backup. The software does not create backup images of your drive. For complete backup and
restoration of your system drive, you must first create a Disaster Recovery CD. For more
information, refer to the Retrospect Express User’s Guide located on the installation CD.
Manual Backup (Backup on Demand)
1. Press the
Backup On Demand
button on the front of the unit to launch the initial setup
wizard. Click
Next.
2. Click on the storage drive you want to back up. This is the source drive that Retrospect
Express will back up every time you press the
Backup On Demand
button. Click
Next
.
