Noise from some processes or equipment can damage
hearing.
1. Wear approved hearing protection when the noise
level is high.
WARNING
FLYING SPARKS AND
SHARES OF HOT METAL can cause
injury.
Arc rays from the welding process produce intense
visible and invisible (ultraviolet and infrared) rays that
can burn the eyes and skin. Sparks fly off the weld.
1. Use impact-resistant safety goggles or glasses and
ear protection at all times when using this welding
helmet.
2. Do not use this welding helmet when working with
or around explosives or corrosive liquids.
3. Do not weld in the overhead position while using
this welding helmet.
4. Inspect the auto-cassette (filter) regularly. Replace
scratched, cracked or pitted covers or the auto
cassette (filter) immediately.
WARNING
MOVING PARTS
can cause injury
Moving parts, such as fans, rotors and strings can cut
off fingers and hands and catch flapping clothes.
1. Keep all doors, panels, covers and protective covers
closed and securely in place.
2. Stop the engine before installing or connecting the
unit.
3. If necessary, only authorized persons may
remove covers or covers for maintenance and
troubleshooting.
4. To prevent unintentional starting during
maintenance, disconnect the negative (-) battery
cable from the battery.
5. Keep hands, hair, flapping clothes and tools away
from moving parts.
6. Reinstall the panels or covers and close the doors
when servicing is completed and before starting the
engine.

Start with a colour that is too dark to see the welding
zone. Then move on to a lighter shade that gives a
sufficient visibility of the welding zone without going
below the minimum.
