Wood is a natural product. Varied colouring, knurls and crack formation are normal and have no
influence on the statics.
Dry cracks may form as a result of extreme weather conditions, especially after long hot periods.
These dry cracks are in no way a defect in quality but are a part of the natural appearance of the
wood. Depending on the weather these cracks may close up again to a minimum. Moreover, these
dry cracks, which form longitudinally in the wood, have no effect on the strength and resilience of the
material.
Varied distortion, swelling and shrinking of the boards and front ends are in the nature of the wood
and do not compromise the functionality of the pool in any way. They are not grounds for complaint.
5.2. Packaging
Please do not simply throw away the packaging material. Paper, card and corrugated board as well as
plastic packaging materials should be placed in the correct collection containers.
5.3. Wood protection
The wood must not be exposed to bright sun or moisture before and during assembly.
Pressure-treated products are already protected against moisture, wood-eating insects and fungus. Greying
of the surface is not prevented. Blue stain protection is not provided.
Both untreated and pressure-treated wood may require finishing treatment for visual appearance or in the
event that completely natural dry cracks occur.
Pressure-treated garden wood which has a very high moisture content after production due to the process
tends to get
stains and surface mould
during storage. These neither destroy the wood nor affect its
strength. The mould can be removed with a brush, for example, after the wood has dried and weathering will
remove this visual flaw.
5.4. Installation information:
Please follow section
4.3.
‘
Safety information’
.
5.4.1. This must be considered before installation!
When marking out your pool at the planned site, pay particular attention to the location of the existing
electricity and water connections/cables and determine the location of the skimmer or plant room
accordingly.
This is also to be considered when arranging the first layer of boards. The location of the swimming pool
must be firm and completely level, any slopes must therefore be smoothed out.
Preparation of the substrate (
see 4.3 above
):
We recommend the following work steps:
- Remove any turf present.
- Ground excavation
- Level and compress land
- Add an approx. 5 cm layer of ballast and level it
- Add an approx. 2 cm layer of fine sand, level an compress it
Check that the ground is level, correct if necessary.
Lay and align first layer of boards
