Tank diameter is an approximation for the following:
1. down

ow softener using standard mesh synthetic cation exchange media regenerating
with sodium chloride.
2. up
fl
ow softener using standard mesh synthetic cation exchange media regenerating
with sodium chloride, an inlet water pressure of 30 to 50 psi (2.1 to 3.4 bar) and water
temperature of 60°F (15.6°C) water or warmer. Higher pressures or lower temperatures
would need smaller injectors to avoid lifting the bed.
*Not applicable for EA, EE or EI control valves.
