This screen indicates that the appliance is ready to clean and that care should be taken as
some parts including the combustion pot, ash pan and heat exchanger may be hot. Appropriate
protective wear including gloves should be worn when handling such items. The combustion
door can now be opened. First ensure the combustion door handle is in the fully downward
position, then press and hold the green interlock button (located beside the isolator switch, see
Figure 1) while simultaneously lifting the door handle upwards. The combustion door may be
opened to access the combustion pot and ash pan as shown in Figure 14 below.
The combustion pot is released by unfastening the two toggle latches (one on either side). The
combustion pot can now be lifted away vertically off its locating holes. The combustion pot
should be emptied and cleaned paying particular attention to ensure the small air holes are
clean and unblocked. The shelf on which the combustion pot is located and which houses the
pot grate and cleaning mechanism should also be cleaned. Any debris which may have fallen
through the grate can be removed through the inspection door. The inspection door can be
removed by unfastening the two screws on its front face. Replace the inspection door after
cleaning and secure in place using the two screws.
At this stage the ash pan should also be removed and emptied. After cleaning, the ash pan
should be reinstalled ensuring that no ash has fallen behind or below it. The combustion pot
can then be relocated and secured by refastening the two toggle latches. The combustion door
should now be closed and the display on the user interface controller will automatically change
to the final cleaning screen as shown in Figure 15.
