•
Operate the harvester head safely. The chain shot
hazard zone is approximately 15 degrees towards the
rear sprocket and in front of the saw bar tip.
•
Do not operate the harvester head with the window
open.
•
Ensure the chain shot protection device is installed and
properly maintained.

Bucking and Piling
•
Place processed logs in a stable position with safe
access for the forwarder.
•
Make parallel, even, piles of logs, with matching ends.
•
Create a debris mat from limbs and tops to help
distribute carrier weight and reduce soil impact.
•
Sort logs by class or species.
•
Exceeding harvester head capacity is not
recommended.
