■
The front end of the boom has a mounting adapter for attaching
equipment with a 5/8" spigot. The mounting adapter can also be
installed sideways. In this way, equipment can be attached in many
different ways.
■
The rear end of the boom can be used to attach counterweights.
Commissioning
To put the extension arm into operation, first lock the castors. Then bring the
boom into a position where you can easily reach all areas and make sure that
the bracket for the boom grips it approximately in the middle. Prepare the
counterweight by placing a weight in the counterweight bag provided. This
can be a plastic bag with sand, a plastic bottle with water, a dumbbell disc or
whatever else you have to hand. If you know the weight of your equipment
to be mounted and the desired length of the extension, you can use the law
of the lever to calculate how heavy your counterweight should be. Pay atten-
tion to the maximum load capacity of the stand, see technical data. Lock the
adjustment angle with the clamping lever [4]. Have the counterweight ready,
as well as the equipment you want to attach to the front of the boom and all
the necessary cables.
First of all, hang the counterweight on the back of the boom. Make sure that
the eyelet [8] provided for this purpose points downwards. Hold the boom
firmly.
Now mount the desired equipment on the front of the stand. Make sure
that it is held firmly and that the locking screw grips the pin on the slimmer
section. This will prevent it from slipping off.
2. Fold out the legs
CAUTION
Risk of injury and squeezing. Proceed with caution. Also observe the safety
catches on the stand legs.
5. Preparing the stand for use
■
Set up the folded stand as shown. Unlock the leg locks. Carefully fold
down the individual legs and make sure that the locks also engage.
Always lock the brakes [12] on the castors when you are not moving
the stand.
■
The stand features an extension. To adjust the height, open the lock
for the tripod extension [5]. Adjust the extension to the desired height
and lock the lock for the tripod extension [5] again.
■
To use the stand as a boom stand, loosen the retaining catch for the
boom [6]. Pull the extension arm upwards until the extension is com-
pletely lifted out of the centre column. Now you can tilt the extension
arm, balance it and fix it in the desired position.
