You can update the firmware on the Series 750 I/O modules with the
“WAGO I/O-Update 750” software.
No firmware update possible for 750-495/040-002 variant from version
≤
04
to version
≥
05
The 750-495/040-002 (R.C.) I/O module variant cannot be updated from firmware
version 04 or lower to firmware version 05 or higher.
The update of the I/O module is performed via the service interface. For
ETHERNET-based fieldbuses, the fieldbus connection on the fieldbus
coupler/controller is also available.
Please note the following before an update:
•
Ensure that communication with the fieldbus coupler/controller is not
interrupted during the update process.
Damage to I/O module if update interrupted
During the update process, the I/O module must not be removed, and the
power supply must not be interrupted.
Otherwise, the I/O module could be damaged.
•
Stop the application running on the controller before the update process.
•
Disconnect the fieldbus cable from the fieldbus coupler/controller before
performing an update via the service interface.
•
Only run the software “WAGO I/O-Update 750” from a local hard disk.
•
Do not close the software “WAGO I/O-Update 750” during the update.
•
After an update from firmware version 04 or lower to firmware version 05,
the WAGO controller reports a KBus timeout. This occurs because of a
reorganization of the data structure, which is performed once and must be
concluded in order to successfully complete the update. For updates from
firmware version 04 or lower to future firmware versions > 05, it is always
necessary to install version 05 first
