
Aside from these methods of determination the grinding angle can be always che-
cked in the setting device. The cutting edge of the chasers should be parallel to the
foot switch of the flowmeter which runs parallel to the axis of the workpiece.
In practice it became evident that for most workpieces the best results can be achie-
ved when the cutter of the chaser runs parallel to the axis of the workpiece.
In some cases as for instance for "stainless steel" it may be necessary to reduce the
grinding angle, in exceptional cases to have a grinding angle of minus degree.
Whereas we would not recommend to increase its size.
Grinding of the chasers
After choosing the matching angles the chasers can be grinded.
Please heat the chasers reasonably when dry grinding. On no account should they
be cooled in water after grinding. Please note to supply water sufficiently when wet
grinding.
Non-observance can lead to fissures and even cobbling of the cutters of the
chasers.
