Leak test
The so-called active method has proven itself for leak testing of pressureless systems. For this purpose,
the ultrasonic transmitter is positioned in the object to be tested. The ultrasonic waves that can be
detected with the WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0 are emitted at leak points.
7.2.1
Performing a leak test
Required components:
WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0
Ultrasonic transmitter
Airborne sound probe or flexible airborne sound probe
Headphones with connecting cable or loudspeaker
Performing a leak test
– Press
for 3 seconds to switch the ultrasonic transmitter on.
– Press repeatedly until the top LED lights up red.
The sound intensity can be adjusted during operation. Two levels are available, which are indicated by
the LEDs.

Change the sound intensity by briefly pressing

The LEDs indicate the current sound intensity.
LED status
Meaning
Upper LED lights up red
Stronger sound intensity / louder
Lower LED lights up red
Weaker sound intensity / quieter (default)
– Press
to turn on the WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0.
– Position the ultrasonic transmitter in your test object (driver's cabin, luggage compartment, boot,
etc.).
NOTICE
Damage to the probe connector
The probe connector may be damaged if it is not installed correctly in WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0.

Install the desired probe at the specified position (slot for the probes has a notch).

The connector engages noticeably in the slot.

The probe is now ready for operation.
– Connect the airborne sound probe to the WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0.
The flexible airborne sound probe is used in areas that are difficult to access. With the 30 cm long
special probe, parts of the system that are difficult to reach can be tested much more easily.
