Blind stitch/Elastic blind stitch
Blind stitch: For invisible hems
Elastic blind stitch
1 Lay the fabric with the back side facing
upwards. Fold the edge of the fabric to the
desired hem width as shown in the figure.
Iron or tack the fabric and/or hem before
sewing to guarantee a good sewing result.
1 Approx. 5 mm
2 Right side of the fabric
3 Back side of the fabric
2 Insert the blind hem foot. Position the
fabric so that the presser foot guide lies
against the hem edge and lower the
presser foot lifter.
3 The needle should pierce the fabric as
close as possible to the edge of the fold.
Note
Turning the screw at the blind hem foot moves
the right and left needle insertion positions.
4 If applicable, remove the tacking thread
and turn the fabric over.

5 Hem
6 Needle position
Blind stitches cannot be sewn if the left-hand
needle insertion point does not grasp the hem.
If the needle grasps too much of the hem, the
fabric cannot be folded and the seam on the
right side of the fabric looks too large and
unsightly.
