Sewing thick fabrics
If the presser foot reaches a thick hem, at the
edge of which the slope is too high, lower the
needle and raise the presser foot lifter.
Slide a folded piece of fabric or cardboard
under the rear part of the presser foot in order
to compensate for the difference in height.
Lower the presser foot lifter and continue
sewing.
If the presser foot lifter is in the upper position
and thick or multi-layered fabrics are being
sewn which cannot be slid under the presser
foot so easily, move the presser foot lifter to
the highest position by lifting it as high as
possible by hand.
If the presser foot is not at the same height on
all sides and the fabric cannot be fed at the
start, place a piece of fabric, paper or
cardboard of similar thickness under the
presser foot.

Sewing thin fabrics
Place the fabric on a thin piece of tissue paper
or stabilising material and start sewing.
If necessary, readjust the stitch length and the
thread tension.
Using the needle plate
Align the fabric edge to a line of the needle
plate to sew even seam allowances.
