1.5 Operation Principles
VWR A water system produces ultrapure water and pure water directly from tap water. Most
particles, ions and organic compounds are removed through the pre-filtration, RO membrane.
When in need of ultrapure (UP) water, RO water goes through a UV lamp chamber with a dual
wavelength UV lamp to destroy trace organic pollutants in water, then through a polishing cartridge
to remove the last trace of ions, then a 0.2
μm final filter to the outlet.
