ZERO & AMBIENT CONTAMINATION
•
The detector automatically adjusts its ZERO according to the ambient conditions. The
detector's automatic zeroing allows leak detection in contaminated conditions
•
However, contamination always produces a 'masking' effect on leaks and it should be
limited as much as possible. The lower the ambient contamination the better one can
detect minor leaks.
•
High contamination can result in ZERO instability with the lighted display being on. In such
a case it is essential to ventilate the premises, as the excessive level of contamination will
make valid leak hunting impossible.
