In general, the core diameter is segment length dependent. If the fiber segment between the
EX2500A and the switch is 2 m to 300 m, use a 62.5/125
μm MMF cable. For segments greater
than 300 m, use a 50/125
μm MMF cable. Finally, the proper fiber cable connectors must be
specified when ordering X/125
μm MMF cable. The EX2500A interfaces to fiber v
ia the SFP port.
This port accepts a transceiver that requires an LC duplex style connector. The other end that
connects to the switch must be specified by the user.

ONFIGURATIONS
The EX2500A features an 8-channel LXI trigger bus on the front panel. These channels are used
primarily for high-speed multi-unit triggering and synchronization. Currently, the EX2500A can
route VME TTL or ECL triggers to the LXI trigger bus or from the LXI trigger bus to the VME
aforementioned triggers. Connecting the EX2500A’s LXI trigger bus to other LXI devices or to
other EX2500As is done using a VTI Instruments trigger bus cable.
