• Do not use this appliance for any application other
than that stated in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packing, make
sure that it is intact: if in doubt consult a qualified
professional or Vortice*. Do not leave packing
materials within the reach of children.
• Do not operate the appliance in presence of
inflammable vapours (alcohol, insecticides, petrol,
etc.).
• Do not place any object on the unit.
• The appliance is not intended for use by young
children or infirm persons without supervision.
• Young children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.

• Do not make any modifications of any kind to your
unit.
• The unit must not be exposed to atmospheric
conditions (rain, direct sunlight, etc.).
• Install the unit following these instructions (fig. 3).
• Do not cover or obstruct the unit’s inlet grille or
outlet nozzle.
• Site the automatic hand dryer carefully to avoid
interference during operation.
• Since the unit is double insulated, it does not need
to be earthed. Regularly inspect the unit. Should
the unit suffer damage, fail to operate correctly, or if
a fault is found, switch off the supply, and contact
Vortice*. Always make sure that original Vortice
spare parts are used.
• The unit must be installed by a suitably
qualified electrician.
• The installation and wiring must conform to
current IEE Regulations (UK) local or appropriate
regulations (other countries). It is the installer’s
responsibility to ensure that the appropriate
Building Codes of Practice are adhered to.
• When installing the unit, a double pole isolation
isolation switch must be fitted with a minimum
contact gap of 3mm.
• Ensure that the main supply is switched off before
making any electrical connections or carrying out
maintenance or cleaning.
• The rubber grommet in the base of the unit is
suitable for supply cables of between ø 7 mm and
14 mm (fig. 6A-7A-6B). Alternatively the rubber
grommet can be removed and a rigid tube of
ø 16 mm (Helios or equivalent model) can be fitted
(fig. 6C).
• The units have an internal trimmer which can be
adjusted as follows
• On automatic versions, if you want to adjust the
sensitivity of the optical sensors (fig. 24-25), you
can adjust the trimmer as required. On manual
versions you can adjust the trimmer (fig. 26) to vary
drying time
Note:
• If the unit overheats, the power supply will
automatically cut out, and will only be restored
when the temperature drops back to normal
levels. If this first cut-off device malfunctions, a
second protection device will cut in and turn off
the power.
• The automatic versions incorporate anti-vandal
devices that disconnect power after 5-10
minutes of continuous operation.
• The automatic versions also incorporate a time-
out function that permits you to move away
from the hair dryer for between 2 and 5 seconds
without the appliance switching off
