SPEED REGULATION PROCEDURE:
•
Close all doors and windows.
•
Open all the duct valves to the fully open position.
Have the system calculations for the dwelling handy.
(Tip: write the value for each room clearly on a piece
of paper and leave in each room for handy reference).
Setting the Maximum Extract Ventilation Rate
(boost)
1.
Set the anemometer for measuring extract air flow.
2.
Set the external switch to the on (boost) position
(fig. 15)
3.
The maximum speed Vmax can be set between
600 rpm and 2500 rpm by turning the RV2
potentiometer (fig. 5). Set the fan speed to the
required level to achieve the total air flow required.
The potentiometer can be turned clockwise to
increase the fan speed and anti-clockwise to reduce
the fan speed.

4.
Measure the total extract air at the extract valves
and repeat step 3 until the required value or above is
reached
.
5.
Now adjust the individual extract valves until each
room is extracting the correct air flow. Please note you
may need to adjust the fan speed during this process
to compensate for any additional resistance.
Setting the Minimum Extract Ventilation Rate
(trickle)
1.
Set the anemometer for measuring extract air flow.
2.
Set the external switch to the off (trickle) position
(fig. 13).
3.
The minimum speed can be set between 400 rpm
and the maximum actual speed minus 100 rpm by
operating on the RV1 potentiometer (fig. 6). Set the
fan speed to the required level to achieve the total air
flow required. The potentiometer can be turned clock-
wise to increase the fan speed and anti-clockwise to
reduce the fan speed.
4.
Measure the total extract air at the extract valves
and repeat step 3 until the required value or above is
reached.
5.
There is no need to adjust the individual extract
valves for the trickle rate as these have been set during
the commissioning process for the boost speed
previously.
Setting the Average Speed
If the minimum flow rate required by the specific
installation is not achievable within the minimum speed
regulation range, prepare the device so that the
minimum flow rate is obtained by the average speed.
The average speed is given by the following formula:
Vmed = Vmin + [(Vmax – Vmin) * 0.765].
Set the
external switch to average speed position (fig. 14).
