Emergency brake light and automatic
hazard warning flashers, EBL
1
Emergency Brake Lights (EBL) are activated
in the event of heavy braking or if the ABS
brakes are activated. This function means
that the brake light flashes to immediately
alert cars travelling behind.
The system is activated if ABS is used for
more than 0.5 seconds or in the event of
heavy braking, however, only when braking
from speeds above 50 km/h. When the
speed of the car is lower than 30 km/h the
brake lights shine normally again and the
hazard warning flashers are switched on
automatically. The hazard warning flashers
remain on until the car accelerates again but
can be deactivated with the button for hazard
warning flashers, see page 54.
NOTE
Regulations for use of fog lamps vary from
country to country.
