Alternatively:
Battery operation (without mains supply):
• The test object is connected to the GT-6000 in the same way as in mains mode,
but without connecting the mains supply cable.
• A tick symbol is also displayed next to the I
EA
symbol if the protective conductor
current I
EA
(equivalent leakage current measurement method) is lower than the
permissible limit value.
• The test is considered passed if ‘PASS’ is shown on the display.
c) Lead test
The lead test can be used for testing both IEC power cables (device connection cables with low-power connector) as
well as for testing cable drums, multi-distributors and extension cables.

the GT-6000.
• Connect the IEC power cable to be tested to the GT-6000 using the low-
power connection (10).
• Press the button (2) to start the automatic test sequence for protection
class 1.
• The test begins with measurement of the protective conductor resistance
R
PE
.
• Depending on whether the value is above or below the limit value, an X
symbol or a tick symbol is displayed next to the R
PE
symbol.
The protective conductor resistance depends on the length
and cross-section of the lead to be tested.
• If R
PE
is higher than the permissible limit
value (≤0.3 Ω up to a length of 5 m), but
lower than 1 Ω, the measured value is
displayed without rating. The “tAble”
symbol is displayed and the test se-
quence stops.
• Test personnel must then decide whether or not the displayed measured
value is acceptable based on the limit value table and on the length of the lead on the test object. Typical lead
resistances are listed in the table:
