7. Product description
• The device tester GT-6000 is intended for electrical safety tests in accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702, DGUV
Regulation 3 (formerly BGV A3) and ÖVE/ ÖNORM E8701. The GT-6000 automatically verifies the type of test ob-
ject connected and informs the user if the test method has been selected incorrectly (protection class 1 or protec-
tion class 2). Preset limit values and measured results with pass/fail information facilitate evaluation of the device
test. For detailed information on the tests and limit values, please refer to the current version of the standards.
• With full battery capacity, the GT-6000 can perform approx. 2500 device tests.
• The GT-6000 can be used for tests in battery operation and in mains operation when connecting a mains voltage of
230 V AC. In battery operation, it must be noted that the protective conductor current and contact current measure-
ment are carried out using the alternative leakage current measurement method. This method is suitable for test
objects that do not contain mains voltage-dependent switching elements (e.g. power supplies).
• If the internal structure of the test object is unknown or contains switching elements that are mains voltage-
dependant, the test must be carried out in mains operation with connection of a mains voltage of 230 V. As soon
as the GT-6000 is supplied with mains voltage via the socket, the protective conductor current/contact current
measurement is carried out automatically according to the differential current/direct measurement method under
the operating conditions of the test object.
• The test voltage for the insulation resistance measurement is preset to 500 V DC in accordance with the applicable
standard. For test objects with integrated surge arresters and for electronic devices where there are objections to
a test voltage of 500 V DC, the test voltage can be reduced to 250 V DC with the button (5).
