Electrical system
The internal locking
In the area of the C-pillar, a lock/unlock button is installed, which enables the customer to lock and unlock the
vehicle without a folding radio key and driver door lock/unlock button.
When the lock button is pressed, the system checks whether the sliding door, the driver door, the front
passenger door and rear doors are closed. If this is the case, all doors (driver door, front passenger door, sliding
door, rear doors and service hatch of the WC cassette) of the vehicle are “internally locked”. If a door is open, the
locking of the vehicle is blocked in order to prevent the user from being locked out. The doors can be opened at
any time using the internal door handles. When the unlock button is pressed, the sliding door, rear doors and
service flap are unlocked. Driver and front passenger doors remain locked.
If the vehicle is “externally locked”, the lock/unlock button in the C-pillar has no function.
The locking mechanism of the service flap is integrated into the central locking system.
In case of malfunction, an emergency operation (unlocking) can be performed. For this purpose, there is a pull
cord next to the seat padding on the dinette seat bench.
