3.1 Components comprising the laser system
3.1.1 Overview
The complete processing system consists of the following components:
(1) Laser head
The laser beam is generated in the laser head.
(2) Scan head
The scan head serves to deflect the beam
.
(3) Computer
A PC or laptop is connected to the laser system. It is used to control the system and
to control the manufacturing process. The required software is installed.
(4) Door
The security door is opened and closed manually and separates from the processing
area.
(5) Windows with safety glasses
In the security door and the sides windows made of safety glass are build in.
Through this windows you can monitor the production process.
(6) Control bar switch and indicator
In the control bar the emergency stop switch, the power switch, which frees the
system to operate, and the switch to open the security door are located.
(7) Supply modules
All necessary to operate supply modules are located at the back of the laser system.
(7) Motor axles
The motor axles of the laser and the scan head are movable in the X, Y, and Z-axis.
The units are connected to each other by means of power cables, control lines and
an optical waveguide.
