FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS / TROUBLESHOOTING
Question/Problem - Cause
Cause
Solution
The pump won't turn on:
•
The power cord is not plugged in or there is an
electrical fault;
•
The water level is lower than the level of the pump
suction. The float switch is on;
•
Check the plug, socket and circuit breaker of the
supply circuit;
•
The water level must be higher than the level at
which suction is taking place;
The pump turns off suddenly while it's working:
•
The heat sensor shut the pump down because it
was overheating;
•
While the pump cools down, unplug the power cord
and clean the turbine;
Do not let the temperature of the water exceed
35°C;
The pump starts but does not pump any water:
•
The pressure hose is bent or clogged;
•
Air is blocking water from being taken in;
•
The suction base is clogged with debris;
•
The level of liquid is lower than the level at which
the pump is applying suction;
•
Insert the hose correctly and clean it;
•
When inserting the pump into water, it should be
tilted slightly to ensure water enters the turbine
chamber. If necessary, tilt the pump backwards and
forwards several times until no more air bubbles
appear;
•
Clean up debris out of the filter;
•
Lower the pump;
The pump does not turn off:
•
The float switch is stuck and is unable to drop
along with the water level;
•
Release the float switch so that it is able to maintain
its position on the water level;
Not enough water is being transported:
•
The suction base is clogged with debris;
•
The pump's power is reduced due to the water
being extremely dirty and mixed with abrasive
substances;
•
Clean up debris out of the filter;
•
Clean the pump and any worn parts;
The pump automatically shuts off after it has only
been running for a short amount of time:
•
The protective feature installed within the motor
shuts it off due to the water being excessively
dirty;
•
The temperature of the water is too high so the
engine's internal protection turns it off;
•
Remove the plug from the electrical outlet and
clean the pump and well;
•
Do not let the temperature of the water exceed
35°C;
