OCR Basic Control Console
Basic mode is when the cover is on the control console. You do not have access to the
many OCR features, which are described in “ OCR Advanced Control Console ” on
page 21.
The following buttons are active while you are in OCR Basic mode.
Label Name Description
1 Capture Press this button to capture an image for OCR. Merlin elite Pro
begins reading back to you immediately and automatically. Press
again to exit OCR and go back to the OCR guide frame.
2 Zoom
Wheel
Turn clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the
zoom level.
3 Pause/Play After performing an OCR capture, press up or down to pause or
resume OCR reading.
4 Color
Mode
Press up or down to toggle through color viewing modes.
5 Volume Rotate to increase/decrease system volume.
6 Voice
Speed
Rotate to increase/decrease OCR playback speed. You can also
turn the lights on/off by pressing on the middle of this button
and the Volume button at the same time.
