8. RF Safety
SAR Statement:
This HEROCast system has been designed and manufactured to comply with the limits for exposure to
RF energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) USA, Industry Canada (IC), EU and
other countries.
The exposure standards for wireless devices employ a unit of measurement known as the Specific
Absorption Rate (SAR).
The SAR limit set by FCC / IC is 1.6W/kg averaged over 1 gram of tissue.
The SAR limit recommended by the council of the EU, has a higher limit of 2.0W/kg averaged over any
10 grams of tissue.
The HEROCast system SAR value is 1.526W/kg.
The HEROCast system must only use supplied antenna accessories. The antenna must
be mounted in the vertical position or angled away from the users head to maintain a
minimum clearance, to the lowest part of the radiating element, of no less than 58mm.
