6.4 Crimping the coupling with the crimper
Before starting the work
• Check the trigger's position. The tool must always be powered on with the trigger not pressed.
• Check the battery is in perfect state. If the battery is damaged, it must be changed.
6.4.1
Crimping the coupling
WARNING:
always keep your fingers, hands and any foreign body away from the clamp during the crimping
cycle. Lack of application of this instruction may cause severe body injury.
• SWITCH ON THE MACHINE
Press the ON/OFF button. The 3 LEDs are lit green during 1 second.
• PLACE THE INSERTS OR MINI-JAW ONTO
THE COUPLING.
Open the clamp by hand by pressing both ends. Place the coupling
between the clamp jaws. Release the clamp's jaws and align the jaw
profile on the coupling.
• CHECK THE POSITION.
Check that the coupling is located properly in the profile of inserts or
the mini-jaw.
• CRIMP THE COUPLING.
Press the crimper trigger and press until the end of the crimping cycle
(rollers back to initial position). At the end of the cycle, the cycle LED
must be lit green, certifying that the cycle was performed properly.
NOTE: Always support the tool with your hand. Do not leave the tool
hanging on the tube.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• The jaws have a powerful tightening effect. Keep your fingers away from the jaws.
• If you release the trigger before the end of the cycle, the tool stops and returns to the initial position. During the
return, the cycle LED flashes yellow. The machine indicates a non compliant cycle, shown by the red cycle LED
flashing, as well as 5 beeps for 5 seconds.
• If during the crimping cycle, the situation requires an emergency return, just release the trigger.
6.4.2
Remove the crimper from the coupling
• REMOVE THE CLAMP FROM THE
COUPLING.
Open the jaws by hand by pressing the two ends of the clamp and
removing the jaws from the coupling.
• SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE
Press the ON/OFF button. The 3 LEDs are lit red during 1 second.
•VISUAL CHECK
After each crimping, it is important to check visually that the coupling
was crimped properly.
