Restarting the Vitocom
1.
Plug the power supply unit into the socket.
The Vitocom 100 is initialised.
2. During first-time commissioning with a new SIM
card:
The operating status indicator "4" flashes green.
After approx. 2 minutes:
Reception quality indicator "2" and mobile network
connection status indicator "3" flash yellow. Operat-
ing status indicator "4" flashes red.
Enter the SIM card PIN (see page 19).

Note
The Vitocom 100 is commissioned exclusively via
SMS using a mobile phone.
Send the commissioning SMS to the Vitocom 100;
see page 20.
4. Option:
Create SMS templates in the mobile phone; see
page 15.
5. Only prepaid:
■
Enter the current date and expiry date of the SIM
card; see page 23.
■
Enter credit on SIM card and cost of an SMS for
monitoring the credit on the prepaid SIM card;
see page 23.
Entering the PIN

"Terminology" in the appendix.
When carrying out first-time commissioning of the
Vitocom 100 with a new SIM card, the PIN of the SIM
card must entered.
The PIN must be entered when the following is indica-
ted:
The reception quality indicator "2" and the mobile net-
work connection status indicator "3" flash yellow; the
operating status indicator "4" flashes red.

Hold down confirmation button "T2" for at least 5 s.
2. Perform the following steps for each PIN digit:
■
Set the PIN rotary selector "S1" to the corre-
sponding digit of the PIN.
■
Briefly press confirmation button "T2" once.
■
PIN entry terminates if, during the PIN entry, nothing
is entered for approx. 30 s.
■
The PIN is saved in the Vitocom 100. If the same
SIM card is removed and reinserted the PIN does
not need to be re-entered.
■
The PIN is erased if the Vitocom 100 is reset to its
delivered condition (see page 16).
Entering the PUK

If the PIN code has been incorrectly entered several
times, the PUK of the SIM card must be entered.
The PUK must be entered when the following is indica-
ted:
Reception quality indicator "2" illuminates red. Operat-
ing status indicator "4" flashes red.
