Safety Advice
Only professional assembly and proper operation guarantee the safe function of the "Grundfix Plus-Control" in case of backflow.
Backflow damage caused by personal negligence is not included in the manufacturer’s warranty.
The following safety advice must be observed.
Q
Q
The installation of the Grundfix Plus-Control in the drain pipe must only be carried out by specialist construction or sanitation
companies while taking into consideration the technical building regulations and information in this operating manual - electrical
connection must only be carried out by specialist companies.
Q

All documentation must be handed over to the operator of the system after commissioning and inspection.
Q

Maintenance and service work must be carried out in good time and documented.
Q

Replace defective components; do not repair.
Intended Use
The "Grundfix Plus-Control" backflow valve automatically closes the drain pip in case of a backflow, with the help of a motor-driven
flap. It is suitable for use in drain pipes made of high-temperature or wastewater piping, DN 100, 125 or 150 with domestic waste-
water containing faeces up to a temperature of 95 °C. When using other pipes, such as clay pipes or cast iron pipes, the appropriate
junctions to the wastewater pipes must be used. Grundfix Plus-Control fulfils the requirements of DIN EN 13564 for type 3 with dual
backflow prevention.
Important!
Use in the industrial sector or in pipes which carry abrasive liquids is not permitted. This includes cleaning agents, which can
damage the sanitary equipment, drainage fittings and pipework materials and those with pH values of
≤
4 and
≥
10.
We recommend closing the emergency closing device if there is to be a service interruption of several days, during which no waste-
water will arise.
For inspections / cleaning of the wastewater pipes, you should protect the Grundfix Plus-Control against mechanical damage when
using cameras and cleaning equipment (cleaning spiral, high-pressure cleaner).
Site of Installation / Installation Conditions
According to DIN EN 12056-4 and DIN 1986-100, drainage points beneath the backflow level should be secured against backflow
from the sewer using backflow valves, under certain conditions.
A backflow valve can be used if
Q
Q
There is an incline to the sewer.
Q
Q
The rooms are of subordinate use, i.e. that no considerable asset value or health of inhabitants will be impacted upon if the rooms
flood.
Q
Q
The number of users of the system is small and there is a WC available above the backflow level and use of the drainage point can
be avoided in case of backflow.
Rainwater must not be fed into the sewer via the Grundfix Plus-Control.
Exception:
Rainwater from small areas of approx. 5 m². As you must plan to close the backflow prevention device in case of heavy
rainfall, a storage capacity for the rainwater must be provided by the engineer for the duration of the rain.
The "Grundfix Plus-Control" backflow valve is flood-proof. During periods of floods, a water column of max. 3 m / 24 hours can be
applied.
