Configuration and operation
After you have connected the hardware it is time to configure and use the
Fax Server. This chapter explains you how the user interface works. In the
following chapters we guide you with the configuration. You must:
o
On the keyboard of the Fax Server, go through the system settings
and make changes if required
and
o
On the keyboard of the Fax Server, go through the network settings
so the Fax Server will fit in with your network
and
o
On the keyboard of the Fax Server, edit the number list to enable
the fax numbers and attach email addresses to them
or
o
On the PC of the systems manager, arrange the user profiles and
user access to the Fax Server
3.1 Operation basics
The Fax Server has a common menu driven user interface. Most functions
and operations are initiated by pressing a function key followed by a
sequence of menu keys of which the function is determined by the text in the
display. The use of function keys and menu keys is as follows:
Function keys
The most frequently used functions of the Fax Server have been grouped in
the function keys. Throughout the entire manual, symbols representing the
function keys are used to indicate the function key corresponding to the
described function.
Menu keys
After pressing a function key the available functions are assigned to the four
menu keys. The operation of the menu keys is determined by the text in the
display right above the corresponding key. Throughout the entire manual
figures representing the display with or without the menu keys are used to
show the required action corresponding to the described feature.
