The belt tension is correct when a
force of 10 kg exerted on one belt at
the mid-point between the upper and
lower pulleys deviates the belts by 15
mm.
◼
Check the tightening of all taper lock
Allen bolts in the middle of the pulleys.
If the belts require tensioning, see the
following paragraph.
Method:
◼
Ensure the drive belts are cold.
◼
Remove the drive belt cover (1).
◼
Untighten all four engine base
mounting bolts (2).
◼
Untighten the securing nuts of both
tensioning bolts (3).
◼
Use the tensioning bolts and nuts to
move the engine base until the drive
belt tension is correct.
Move both sides simultaneously.
◼
Ensure that both pulley surfaces align
with each other. Correct if necessary.
See the following figure.
◼
Tighten the four bracket bolts and nuts
(2).
◼
Secure all nuts of the tensioning bolts.
