DISMOUNTING THE TOOL
1.
Crank the tool until the drive nut is locat-
ed in the down position.
2.
While supporting the tool, retract the
grooving roll and arm to the fully open position
by turning the feed nut
counterclockwise
.
3.
Remove the tool from the pipe.
CAUTION
• Always support the tool while retracting the groov-
ing roll. Retracting the grooving roll loosens the tool
from the pipe.
Failure to follow these instructions could cause the
tool to fall, resulting in personal injury and/or tool
damage.
NOTICE
• The groove diameter must be within specification
for the diameter and wall thickness of pipe. The
groove diameter should be checked and adjusted,
as necessary, to ensure grooves remain within
specification. Refer to steps 5 – 6 of the “Groove
Depth Adjustment” section on page 17.
