Chapter 2 - Installation
Unpacking the Remote Control
Carefully open the carton. Remove the accessory kit and the VNCTRL-1 from the box and place them on a
large, flat working surface. Open the accessory kit and verify the contents against the list in Table 1-1.
Required Items for Installation
To properly install the remote control there must be simple hand tools available such as a screwdriver,
wrenches, pliers and wire cutters/strippers.
Unit Components
This section describes the VNCTRL-1 front and rear panels.
Panel Connectors and Indicators
The following pictures show the VNCTRL-1 front and rear panels. Each panel component is described below.

The front panel provides a RECORD START button and RECORD STOP button. A COPY START begins
burning a DVD. COPY ABORT stops the copying process. There are LED indicators to display when the unit
is recording or copying. STATUS LEDs alert the user if the unit is On Line or if there is any failure situation.
There is also a MUTE button to silence the audible alarm and other beeps the unit makes during operation.
An LED displays when this is activated.
