Auxiliary Devices
To activate or deactivate auxiliary devices connected to the control system:
1. Enter the device number.
2. Press Aux to toggle the activation/deactivation of the device. The aux number displays in the status line if
the device is
on
.
To activate or deactivate local auxiliary devices connected to the system console:
1. If you have not previously done so, define aux settings as discussed on page 20.
2. Hold the Shift ( ) key down and then press the F6 key for aux 1. If aux 1 is a momentary device, hold the
appropriate key down for the amount of time that the device must be active.
3. For aux 2, hold the Shift ( ) key down and press F8. If aux 2 is a momentary device, hold the appropriate
key down for the amount of time that the device must be active.
Communication Failure
The control screen will display a flashing Fail soft key label and the status line will display a message for a
communication failure. Press the Fail soft key to acknowledge the failure.
Clearing Errors
Press the Clear button to erase a number from the keystroke entry area or to clear an entry error message.
Printing Video
1. Set up the video printer as discussed in your video printer instruction manual.
2. Press and hold the Shift ( ) key. Then press F4 to access the system console’s VCR control screen.
3. In the VCR screen, enter a number and then press the Monitor key to assign the “print” monitor (only a
manager can make the print monitor assignment). The print monitor is the monitor output that will be fed
into the video printer. The print monitor selection is shown at the top of the VCR screen.
4. Press and hold the Shift ( ) key. Then press F1 to return to the NOVA screen.
5. Press the Print Video soft key. Note that for V1400 series only, the Print Video soft key is multi-function. If
a soft key reads “Xpoint-RST” or “Cage-RST”, toggle the label to read “Print Video” by holding down the
top soft key on the leftmost column of soft keys and then toggling with the leftmost soft key on the top row
of soft keys.

To view the help on any screen:
1. Press the ? key to display the first page of on-line help for the currently viewed screen.
2. Press the ? key again to view the next help page (if applicable) or any other key to exit the on-line help.
