KVM Switch
The KVM switch is a 15-inch, rack-mounted flat panel monitor with an integrated keyboard and trackball. It is
a commercially available product provided by Vicon that is used to share one console (the KVM) with up to 8
PCs. You may connect a V1500CPU, a PC loaded with Vicon’s PACPro software, and up to 6 additional PC-
based products. A PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse and VGA cable set is required for each device connected to a
KVM switch. This cable set may be purchased separately from Vicon.
Note: This figure below is meant to give a simple, visual overview of the KVM switch as part of a V1500
system. The cabling in this figure is not meant to be an accurate representation of the cabling required
with the KVM. The KVM instruction manual provides a detailed description of the installation
procedures that must be performed before using the switch.
