Power Module
The V1500HSB-POW is a second power supply for the hot standby versions of the V1500 system. If a
second power supply is being added, perform the procedure below.
Warning: It is not necessary to remove power from the card cage before installing a second power
module. However, dangerous voltages are present in the card cage and care should be taken to
prevent injury and equipment damage. Also take proper precautions to prevent static discharge.
1. Open the front panel of the hot standby card cage and locate the empty slot at the extreme right hand
side of the card cage.
2. Carefully insert the V1500HSB-POW power module into the last slot on the right hand side of the hot
standby card cage, as shown in the figure below.
By default, port 1 of this serial
card and its backup will be set for:
V1500CDU-1, -2, -3: Keypads.
V1500CDU-3: Host PC.
V1500CDU-5: Receivers.
Port 2 will be set for:
V1500CDU-1, -3: Host PC.
V1500CDU-2, -4, -5: Keypads.
By default, port 1 of this serial card
and its backup card will be set for:
Receivers for all models.
Port 2 will be set for:
V1500CDU-1, -4: Receivers.
V1500CDU-2, -5: Host PC.
V1500CDU-3: Keypads.
