Communication 

T his chapter briefly introduce s the U P S com m unication.   

T he com m unication ports include: intellig ent card port, dry contact port, m onitoring  port, R S 4 8 5 port, C A N  

port, built-in port, LB S port, parallel port, intelligent tem perature sensor port and battery m onitor port.

Intellig ent C ard  P ort 

T he U P S provide s tw o Intellislot ports (see F ig ure 7-1) to install the intellig ent cards on site. O pen the front 

door of the U P S, you can see the protective cover located on the cabinet top. Rem ove the protective cover 

to install com m unication device options, including  S IC  card, IS -U N IT Y-D P  card, IS -U N IT Y-L IF E  card, and 

IS -R E L AY  card.

SIC  card (see F ig ure 7-2) is a netw ork m anagem ent card, w hich m ake s the intelligent devices (such as U P S, 

air conditioner, static transfer system  (STS), sever pow er m anagem ent system  (S P M ), and so on) produced
