KEY FEATURES OF YOUR
VERTEX DIVE WATCH
Waterproof to 600 meters or 60 BAR
The BAR measurement is used to indicate how well a
watch is sealed against the ingress of water, measured
in units of pressure (BAR). Testing of dive watches
consider factors such as aging of seals, the properties
of water and seawater, rapidly changing water pressure
and temperature as well as dynamic mechanical
stresses encountered by the watch. Each model has
been rigorously tested to ensure optimal functioning
even at great depths. Please see further information
and guidance on best practices in the Water-Resistance
section of your manual.
ISO 6245
The Swiss rated ISO certification involves stringent
testing of many elements. The Control Condensation
Test submerges the watch under water for two days
before it is placed on a heat plate brought up to just over
100 degrees and finally tested with a drop of water on
the crystal for one minute to ensure no condensation
forms. The Water Resistance at Overpressure Test
subjects every model – not just a sampling - to 25%
more depth pressure than the rated depth and the
Resistance to Salt Water ensures no oxidation occurs
and all functioning remains intact. The Shock Resistance
Test simulates the shock of a fall from 1 meter onto a
hardwood floor like that of the deck of a boat whilst
the Magnetic Field Impact test ensures the watch can
maintain normal accuracy after exposure to a magnetic
field of 4,800 amperes travelling along three different
axes for 1 minute each. Finally the External Forces Test
utilises outside force of 200 newtons in each direction
to ensure the spring bars are able to withstand any
sharp outcropping that may slip under your wristband
whilst diving.
