• Install the chain wheel cover (16) and turn
the thumb screw (15) a little in a clockwise
direction to fix the cover hand-tight.
• Make sure that the chain tensioning bolt (19)
sits precisely in the small opening in the bar.
• Then use the SDS chain tension ring (11) to
set the correct chain tension (see following
section)
Tensioning the saw chain
(Fig. 4)
Attention!
Always wear work gloves
when you are working on the chainsaw,
to avoid injuries.
a) Left direction: Tension chain
b) In the right direction: Loosen chain
If the device is equipped with SDS, this means
that you can loosen or tighten the chain and
the bar (guide plate) without having to use a
tool. You can adjust the chain tension using the
chain tension ring (11) on the SDS. You can
use the thumb screw (15) on the SDS to loosen
or tighten the bar.
Unscrew the thumb screw (15) a little in an an-
ticlockwise direction. Then adjust the correct
chain tension with the SDS (11). Continue to
tension the chain until it can be lifted by around
3 mm in the middle of the strut as shown in Fig.
4. Now tighten the thumb screw (15) completely.
Attention:
During the runin time, the chain
must be re-tightened frequently. Immedi-
ately re-tighten the chain if it flutters or
hangs out of the groove.
Information on tensioning the chain
The saw chain must be correctly tensioned to
ensure safe operation. Optimum tension is
reached when the saw chain in the middle of
the bar can be lifted up by 3 mm. Because the
saw chain is heated by the sawing and thus
changing its length, check the chain tension
every 10 minutes at the latest and adjust if nec-
essary. This is particularly true for new saw
chains. Slacken the saw chain after completing
work because it shortens when cooling. This
prevents the chain being damaged.
Warning!
Do not over-tension the chain
as this leads to excessive wear and de-
creases the service life of the rail and
chain.
Saw chain lubrication
Attention!
Always wear work gloves
when you are working on the chainsaw,
to avoid injuries.
Attention!
Never operate the chain with-
out saw chain oil! Using chain saw with-
out saw chain oil or with an oil level be-
low the minimum marking will result in
damage to the chain saw.
Attention!
Only use special chain saw oil.
The use of used oil will render the war-
ranty invalid.
Filling the oil tank
(Fig. 5)
1. Place the pruner on a level surface.
2. Clean the area around the oil tank lid and
take it off.
3. Fill the tank with saw chain oil. Make sure
that no dirt gets into the tank so that the oil
nozzle is not clogged.
4. Screw the oil tank lid back on.
Use
Warning!
Let the device run at its own
speed. Do not overload it.

“2. Battery-powered telescopic handle”
Swivelling the drive head
(Fig. 5)
Warning! Always remove the re-
chargeable battery before inspection
and adjustment work.
The telescopic pruner is equipped with a swiv-
elling drive head. The drive head can be clicked
into 3 different positions within a 30° arc by
means of a spring button. Make sure that the
drive head is clicked into the correct position
before connecting the telescopic pruner to the
power supply. Try to turn the drive head in both
directions to verify this. The drive head should
be engaged in its position and should not ro-
tate. Heed the following instructions to swivel
the drive head.
1. Press the round button (10) on the side of the
swivel safeguard. The button is spring-loaded
so that resistance can be felt when it is
pressed.
2. Hold onto the motor housing of the drive head
and turn the drive head into one of the 3
positions.
3. Release the round button (10).
It should jump back to its closed position. If not,
carefully turn the drive head forwards and back-
wards until the button jumps back to its closed
position. The drive head is now locked in its
position and ready for use.
