should be trained on a log stand or similar
rack-type device first.
30. Keep the running chainsaw from touching
the ground or wire fences.
31. Keep people and animals away from the
cutting blade.
32. Always inspect the chain saw before each
use for worn, loose, or changed parts.
Never operate a chain saw that is dam-
aged, improperly adjusted, or is not com-
pletely and securely assembled.
33. Ensure that all the fastening elements
(screws, nuts, etc.) are tight at all times so
that you can safely work with the product.
34. Watch for falling wood! As soon as the
limbed branch starts to fall, step aside and
keep a sufficient distance away from the
falling wood.
35. Before putting the appliance into oper-
ation and after any impact, check it for any
signs of wear or damage and have any
necessary repairs executed.
36. Please note that permissible uses for the tool
could be limited by national regulations.
37. Please note that improper maintenance, the
use of non-compliant spare parts, or the
removal or modification of safety devices
can cause damage to the tool and serious
injuries to the operator.
38. Do not use the pole saw if the pole or saw
is damaged, wrongly calibrated or assem-
bled incompletely or not safely or if the
starter does not switch the saw on and off.
The chain must stop after pressing the
starter.
39. Do not use the pole saw for sawing out
branches with a diameter exceeding the
chain bar.
40. Watch out especially for falling branches.
41. Also look out for branches snapping back.
42. Keep other persons out of reach of the cut-
ting end of the pole saw - and in a safe
distance from the place of your work.
43. Keep all parts of your body in a safe dis-
tance from the blade. If the blades are
moving, do not remove any cut material
and do not touch it. Make sure the appli-
ance is off when removing any jammed
material.
44. In order to properly control your chain saw
always maintain good balance and a firm
foothold. Never work on a ladder, in a tree
or on any other insecure support. Never
hold the machine above shoulder height.
45. Special care must be taken in slippery con-
ditions (wet ground, snow) and in difficult,
overgrown terrain. Watch for hidden ob-
stacles such as tree stumps, roots, rocks,
holes and ditches to avoid stumbling. For
better footing, clear away fallen branches,
scrub and cuttings. Be extremely cautious
when working on slopes or uneven ground.
