Electrical Requirements

The Venom Commercial Series BCMS (Battery Charging & Management Systems) are high power devices which
require a dedicated electrical circuit for each individual unit. Failure to supply each unit with a dedicated electrical

circuit may cause a circuit overload, which can trip a breaker and potentially lead to a fire.

Improper wiring may damage the charger, void all warranties and potentially lead to personal injury and/or property
damage. All wiring for the Venom BCMS should be performed by a licensed electrician and conform to all local codes.

Offered in two different variations, Venom BCMS Pro and Ultra, each have specific electrical requirements which will

allow the systems to operate at their full potential. Make sure to read and understand the power requirements for
your particular system(s) prior to installation or operation.

* The Venom BCMS Pro will automatically limit individual operations to stay within the 720W

limit. For example, it is possible to use 550W in 1 bay, 360W in 2 bays, etc.

*

**

** The Venom BCMS Ultra when connected to a 110V AC circuit and will limit individual operations to

stay within the 1200W limit. For example, it is possible to use 550W in 2 bays, 400W in 3 bays, etc.

Enclosure Requirements

The Venom BCMS should be installed in a stationary and sturdy racking solution which utilizes standard 19” spacing

width. We recommend considering the final installation weight of a single Venom BCMS to be 100lbs and the selected

enclosure must be rated for the appropriate weight handling. This enclosure must have four vertical posts which will
allow the front and rear of the Venom BCMS to be secured properly. Mounting hardware is required and not
included. The Venom BCMS requires six rack unit spaces and at least one rack unit (1.75 inches) must be left open
directly above and below each for proper ventilation. Be sure to maintain a minimum of 4” of front clearance and 6”

of rear clearance for proper airflow. DO NOT install the Venom BCMS in a sealed enclosure as this will restrict the
constant airflow required while in operation.

Should the Venom BCMS be used outside of a stationary installation, the system must be secured in a shock mounted
enclosure for protection against vibration. This shock mounted enclosure must be rated to protect equipment

weighing 100lbs or more. It is also important to maintain the necessary clearances to ensure adequate airflow to the
unit. Failure to use a properly specified racking system will damage the system and void all warranties.
