VP-6D DODGE PICKUP HOIST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Remove pick-up bumper and pickup body and remove spare tire winch extension at right of
license plate bracket. Keep the extension and bracket to be reinstalled later. Disconnect
tail lights or any other electrical items attached to the bed (pickup body). Save the bed bolts.
2B. After removing the pickup body, cut the tapered part at the rear of the chassis frame as shown
in FIGURE 2B.
2C. See FIGURE 2C. Cut 4-5/8 inches off the driver side (left side) of the Hoist Frame Upper
Pivot Shaft (1-1/2" dia. x 21" - ref.)

Rear Hinge:
6248 - See Figure 3A. Fasten the lower rear hinge to the rear of the truck frame rail cut-out
in step 2B with the 1/2"-13 x 1" bolts, nuts and lock washers (3 each required per
lower rear hinge). If the holes in the lower rear hinge don't align with the holes in the
frame match drill the holes using the lower rear hinge as a guide. Fasten the upper
rear hinge (with the collars toward inside) to the rear bed crossmembers using the
bed bolts - see Figure 3B.

Upper Nest:
6248 - See Figure 4. Offset the Upper Nest 2-1/2" toward the right side (curb side). Use
5/16"-18 x 3" bolts to fasten the Upper Nest to the under side of the pickup bed.
