11. Special  Features 

 
 

a) Using the Alarm Message 

 
Use the procedure outlined below if the message board is to display an alarm message when 
your alarm system is triggered : 
 

  Connect the message board to your alarm system (read "

" on p. 3). 

  Connect the message board to an AC power source. 

  Activate the message board. 

 

Note : 

The alarm message will continuously scroll across the display if your alarm system has 
been triggered, regardless of whether or not the display is "ON". 

 

b) Changing the Alarm Message 

 
Message 5 is reserved for the alarm message. Use the procedure outlined under heading "

8. 

Entering a Message

" on p. 5 in order to enter an alarm message, but press 

5

 for the message 

number. 
 
Follow the procedure outlined under heading "

9. Editing a Stored Message

" on p. 7 in order to 

edit the alarm message, but press 

5

 for the message number. The message "

EDIT ALARM 

MESSAGE

" is displayed. Consequently, the current alarm message will appear. 

 

c) Deactivating the Alarm Message 

 
If the alarm system is triggered and the alarm message appears, you should put the "

ON/OFF

slide switch in the "

OFF

" position in order to cancel the alarm message display. 

 
 

12. Using the Sequential Display

 

 
 
The message board can be programmed to repeat a sequence of two or more messages. The 
sequence can contain up to eight message numbers but only messages 1 through 4 can be 
included in the sequence. For example, you can enter the following sequence : 2, 4, 3, 1, 4, 2, 
3, 1. The manufacturer’s sequence is 1, 2, 3, 4.
