: M easures against moisture penetration
T he process fi tting must be sealed if there is gauge or low pressure in
the vessel . B efore use , check if the seal material is resistant against
the measured product and the process temperature .

I nsulating measures , such as e . g . covering the thread with te fl on tape ,
can interrupt the necessary electrical connection with metal vessels .
F or this reason , ground the probe on the vessel or use a conductive
seal material .
M etal vessel
M
ake sure that the mechanical connection of the probe to the vessel is
electrically conductive to ensure su ffi cient grounding .
U se conductive seals , such as those made of copper or lead , etc .
I nsulating measures , such as covering the thread with T e fl on tape , can

this reason , ground the probe on the vessel or use a conductive seal

N on - conductive vessels
I n non - conductive vessels , e . g . plastic tanks , the second pole of the
capacitor must be provided separately , e . g . in the form of a concentric
tube .
I f possible , the capacitive probe should be mounted vertically or
parallel to the counter electrode . T his applies particularly to
applications in non - conductive products .
