General Settings

The following functions are available in the General settings:

Language

Audible settings

Measuring units

Device configuration

Shut-Down timer

Language

Selection of the national language for audible information and menu
texts in the display. Currently, the following languages featuring a variety
of male and female voices are available on the system software CD:

British English

American English

French

German

Dutch

Italian

Spanish

Danish

Swedish

Finnish with English voice output

Two languages are available in the system at the same time. If necessary,
other languages can be downloaded from the system software CD or the
languages CD.

Select “General settings” in the “Settings” menu. Press the OK key.

Select “Language”. Press the OK key.

Select “Other language” in the list that is displayed and press the
OK key. And now follow the on-screen instructions.

A “Software Update” will be performed. After the download has been
completed, the CD/DVD must be removed by pressing the Eject key.
Confirmation with the OK key restarts the navigation system.

Audible settings

The following options can be selected in the “Volume” menu:

SDVC: To select a control curve for the speed-dependent volume
increase. To compensate for environmental noise, the volume is
increased as a function of the speed. Test the various SDVC curves in
order to determine the one that is most suitable.
