TA VOL+/- mode

With this option the volume for Traffic Announce-
ments can be preset to the required level.
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.

2.

Turn the VOL knob  to select the TA VOL
mode.

3.

Then turn the VOL knob clockwise to set
volume “louder” and counter-clockwise
“softer” depending on your requirements.

DSP ON/OFF

With DSP OFF the sound of the radio is without
enhancements. With the DSP ON option, preset
sound enhancements can be selected.
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.
Turn the VOL knob to select the DSP ON of
DSP OFF mode.

2.

With DSP ON turn the VOL knob to select
the required sound enhancement.

SEEK 1/SEEK 2

With this mode two different seek methods to
search for a radio station can be selected.

z

Select SEEK 1 if you want to automatically
search for a radio station. By pressing the

 button the radio station will be

selected automatically.

z

Select SEEK 2 if you want to select a station

manually. By pressing the 

 or 

 button

the radio frequency will be increased or de-
creased incrementally.

To select SEEK 1or SEEK 2:
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.

2.

Turn the VOL knob to select the SEEK 1 or
SEEK 2 mode.

STEREO/MONO

Radio station normally broadcast in stereo. In
areas where reception is difficult, this can lead to
interferences or increasing noise. To be able to
receive this weak radio stations you can select
MONO. To receive radio stations in Stereo select
STEREO.
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.

2.

Turn the VOL knob to select either the
STEREO or MONO mode.

DX/LOCAL

Via this mode selection you can determine the
threshold for radio station search. To only re-
ceive local radio stations with high transmitting
power select the mode LOCAL. Select DX in
areas with radio stations with low transmitting
power. The radio station search will then stop for
stations with low transmitting powers as well.

Programme Type Selection (PTY)

This function is available with FM only. It enables
you to select stations by programme type.
There is a coding of up to 28 pre-defined pro-
gramme types – e.g. (in Europe): PTY1 News,
PTY6 Drama, PTY11 Rock music.
1.

Short press this button to display the PTY
information, the display is flashing.

2.

Press either the 

 or 

 button to search

for PTY stations.

3.

Long press the PTY button to display the
programme type. Turn the VOL knob to se-
lect the programme required.

4.

Press the PTY button again to confirm the
selection.

Press the DISP button to look up the PTY
mode.

CD OPERATION

Electronic Shock Protection (ESP)

This unit is equipped with an electronic feature
(ESP) that allows the playback of CDs without
interruptions caused by vibrations. This feature
is ideal for driving on bumpy roads. The informa-
tion from the CD will be buffered in a cache
memory. This feature is available for playback of
CD/MP3.

ESP ON/OFF

To select or de-select this feature:
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.

2.

Turn the VOL knob to select either the ESP
ON or ESP OFF mode.

Loudness ON/OFF (LOUD ON/OFF)

To select or deselct this feature:
1.

Long press the SEL MENU knob.

2.

Turn the VOL knob to select either the LOUD
ON or LOUD OFF mode.
