Switching on
IMPORTANT
The operations described in this section are based on the assumption that the operations
described in the previous section, “Operation” have been carried out!
§
Switch on the machine by turning the main switch from to 0 to I.
The program version no. is shown on LED display 2.
§
Switch the vacuum pump on by pressing the “Vacuum pump” button. If the vacuum chamber is
closed, the lid swings open, and the machine is ready for operation.
Sleep mode
If the machine is idle longer than the number of minutes set in the service program, the controller
powers down to sleep mode. The vacuum pump switches off in sleep mode. The vacuum pump is
switched back on by pressing the “Vacuum pump” button.
9.4.3
Inserting bags
Before you start the packaging process, program the appropriate packaging cycle. The section on
“Programming” describes how to compile a packaging program. If the requested program already exists,
proceed as follows:
§
Ensure that the vacuum chamber is clean and dry
before you start packaging.
§
Insert the bag, which is to be sealed, so that it lies
flat on the welding cap pass.
§
Bags can be placed all along the welding cap
passes. Make sure that the bags do not overlap!
Fig. 9/8
Bag position without inert gas:
Do not allow the vacuum bag to protrude
so far past the welding cap pass that it is
trapped between the lid of the vacuum
chamber and the housing when the lid is
closed.
Bag position with inert gas:
Draw the vacuum bag over the inert gas
nozzles, as shown.
